Describe the problem and the steps that led to it, and include your app and iOS versions. You can prepare feedback text under Settings → About & Feedback, review it, and send it by email. Email links open a draft rather than sending automatically. If no mail app opens, copy the address into your preferred email service.

You do not need to send a complete backup, health records, or private photos. Hide unrelated personal details in screenshots before sharing.

What does Daymoss do?

Daymoss is a local everyday journal for iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Record habits using photos, check-ins, or quantities; save meal photos and optionally enter calories; add manual workouts; connect to Apple Health when you choose; and revisit your days through calendars and photos. Local reminders and Home Screen and Lock Screen habit widgets are available. The initial edition is free, without subscriptions or in-app purchases. No account is needed.

Version 1.0 (Build 2) has no cloud meal recognition or automatic calorie analysis. Recognition in newer versions is in development and requires service configuration and verification. The app has no automatic cross-device sync. Stickers are processed on the device and depend on the photo and device capabilities; processing failure does not delete a saved photo. Menu names below are descriptive translations; the app currently uses Chinese labels.

Why did my meal photo not get a calorie estimate?

Check your app version first: version 1.0 (Build 2) saves photos and requires manual calorie entry. In versions offering recognition, explicitly consent to send meal photos and optional descriptions first. New meals are then analyzed automatically; older meals require analysis individually and are not uploaded in bulk. Declining still allows local photos and manual records.

A successful result lists editable food names, estimated portions, and calories. A no-food message means no usable meal was recognized; an uncertain result asks for more information. A failed request can indicate a network, service, or allowance issue and is not recorded as zero calories. Try a clear full-plate photo, add a food or portion description, retry, or enter calories manually. Retrying updates the same meal. Photos cannot reliably reveal oil, sauces, or actual weight; estimates are for journaling.

Turn off automatic recognition in Settings to stop new requests and cancel unfinished recognition in the app. Already-sent content cannot be recalled. A Cloudflare proxy and OpenRouter pass the photo to an inference provider running DeepSeek V4.1 Flash; Health and habit records are excluded. See the Privacy Policy for data handling and free-allowance details.

How do I back up and restore?

  1. Open Settings → Data & Privacy (设置 → 数据与隐私), choose Export Backup (导出备份), then Save or Share Backup (保存或分享备份). Save the generated JSON file in a trusted location. Exporting alone does not save it into your chosen folder.
  2. The backup includes records, habits, photos, stickers, and Health links and source choices attached to manual workouts. Original Apple Health measurements, reminders, and display preferences are excluded. There is no additional password encryption; keep the file private.
  3. Export your current data before restoring. Choose Restore Backup (恢复备份) and select a JSON file exported by Daymoss. The app checks it and shows its contents by count.
  4. After checking, choose Replace and Restore This replaces current local records, habits, and photos; it does not merge them and cannot be undone. Validation or read failure preserves current data. Local reminder and display preferences remain; check them after restoring.

The current import limit is 200 MB. If you see an unsupported version, damaged file, missing photos, or size error, retain the original file and contact support rather than removing fields by hand. Without a valid backup, the developer cannot remotely recover local records.

Why is Apple Health showing no data?

Connect or refresh under Settings → Health Data (健康数据), and check the relevant dates, samples, sources, and access settings in Apple Health. An empty result does not necessarily mean permission was denied. Daymoss reads health data without editing or deleting original samples. Local meal and habit records remain available without Health access.

How do I add and configure widgets?

Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, open the editing or widget picker controls, and search for 苔光. Today and habit widgets support small and medium sizes. Touch and hold an added habit widget and edit it to choose a habit. A rectangular habit widget is also available when customizing the Lock Screen.

Saving a record requests a refresh; the system controls the timing. Tapping a widget opens today’s relevant records without automatically checking in. Disable content under Settings → Widgets (小组件) if desired. Other people who see your screen may see widget content.

How do I delete data or disable reminders?

Delete individual records in the app, or clear local records, habits, and photos under Settings → Data & Privacy. Back up first if needed. Original Apple Health data, the system photo library, existing device backups, and shared copies are unaffected. The app reports photo cleanup failures. Turn off reminders under Settings → Habit Reminders (习惯提醒), or manage notification previews in iOS Settings.
